If you want to subscribe please send an email introducing yourself and your activities to

contact (at) reclaiming-spaces.org

RULES AND POLICIES FOR THE LIST SERVE

The list is moderated and personal. Subscribers must identify themselves as activists or supporters of social movements or organizations. They should actively contribute to debates.

It is a  very international and rather multidimensional list, but it has a clear focus. In you postings ALWAYS express the concrete context with the reclaiming-spaces objectives or an ongoing debates in our context.

You are addressing your messages neither to a small private special interest group nor to an anonymous mass. You are writing personal letters to a larger group. For that reason make clear what you do expect from your readers.

This is list is made for collective exchange and debate among the members of this list. It is not made for general publications, link-collections nor for private dialoges or messages which are only of interest for specific cities or countries.

The list is not for private exchange - please do that off-list!

Main language is English. It is a pity that we cannot translate into other languages. Nevertheless speakers of other languages are called to send important messages as well. Espcially French and Spanish. If possible, send translations. Even short abstracts in other languages are very helpful.

Always send your message directly to the list address, not in CC or BCC.

If a text is already published on the net, please only post a short introduction or comment and add a link to the original source

If you want to publish a longer article ask for doing that in one of our blogs.

Don’t send HTML.

Avoid sending attachments. If attachments are necessary send them in PDF.

It of course is important to get information about linked issues and activities, about studies and other publications. For all these purposes we have created the blogs. Information which is directed to the general public much better first get posted or linked in one of our blogs.

You may use this list to find people who want to start a more detailed discussion on a specific issue or region. Do not extend such exchanges too much in the list, but keep us updated about results.

You should want to tell or ask the people in the list something directly. Our focus is action, something that should happen, reflection and information that serves this focus.

Respond and relate your post to others without too much repetition.  Avoid sending a message which already has been sent.

If you respond avoid to send a very long list of all the postings before. Reduce to those phrases which are necessary to understand your post.

Debates need structuring. Please help to identify common concerns, propose debates, relate and respond to that.

In difference to information and discussion in the blogs this list is made for debates and proposals which should not be readable to a general public or which are  urgent. In addition we will send messages about updates in the blogs.
